Answer for How tappet clearance is set in Engine

We can set clearance by keeping filler gauge between the adjusting screw which is there on the tappet and valve stem. If there are overhead valves then adjusting screw is on the rocker. Thus clearance is set by keeping filler gauge between this adjusting screw and the valve stem. At the time of setting the clearance, both the valves should be perfectly closed
