Answer for What is the function of flywheel in engine

In the internal combustion engines all the three idle strokes except power strokes are completed by the motion of the flywheel. It is fitted on rear-end of the crank shaft. In the motor vehicles clutch assembly is fitted on this flywheel. A ring gear is mounted on it, with which it self operates and its pinion entangles and turns the engine along with it.
